Others: Forged Rings, Flanges, Elbows, Tees, Reducers etc.

Standard: ASTM/ASME/AMS

NIMONIC PE11 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel iron chromium alloy developed for strong, readily fabricated sheet structures. Titanium and aluminum provide age hardening, supported by molybdenum in the matrix. Its relatively high iron content assists working and weld ductility. Gas turbine fabrications are a principal use, where both the material condition and welded-joint properties require careful control.

Chemical composition

Element Weight percent Element Weight percent
Ni 37–41 Fe Balance
Cr 17–19 Mo 4.75–5.75
Ti 2.2–2.5 Al 0.7–1.0
C 0.03–0.08 Si 0.5 max
Cu 0.5 max Mn 0.2 max
Co 1.0 max B 0.001 max
Zr 0.02–0.05 S 0.015 max

Mechanical properties

Typical 1,000-hour rupture strength, precipitation-hardened condition; Special Metals handbook, printed page 32. Product form and the exact heat-treatment cycle are not specified in this summary.

Test temperature °C 1,000 h rupture strength MPa
650 340
705 250
760 140

The bulletin supplies tensile curves, not a numerical tensile table. The rupture data are typical characterization values; their test temperatures do not establish a recommended service-temperature limit.

Application areas

  • Gas turbine components
  • Welded high-strength sheet fabrications for turbine service
