5083 Aluminum Sheet and Plate

Grade: 5083

Coil: 0.3mm-3.0mm

Sheet: 0.3mm-300mm

Width: 50mm-2000mm

Standard: ASTM, AMS, BS etc.

5083 is a high magnesium aluminum alloy with manganese and chromium additions, widely used for welded marine and transportation plate. It combines substantial strength with good weldability and seawater corrosion resistance. O and H111 favor forming, while H116 and H321 are important marine supply conditions with additional corrosion requirements under appropriate specifications. It is non heat treatable and strengthens through cold work. Material selection should account for weld zone properties, service temperature and the required resistance to intergranular and exfoliation corrosion.
