3003 is a non heat treatable aluminum manganese alloy with moderate strength, good corrosion resistance and excellent fabrication characteristics. Annealed tube is readily bent, flared and formed, while cold worked conditions provide higher strength at lower ductility. It is widely used for heat transfer tubing and general industrial fluid handling when service chemistry is compatible. Its combination of weldability, forming capability and economical processing makes it useful where very high structural strength is unnecessary.
