1060 is commercially pure aluminum containing at least 99.60 percent aluminum. Its main advantages are high electrical and thermal conductivity, excellent ductility and good resistance to atmospheric corrosion. Tube can be readily formed in the annealed condition, but strength is low compared with alloyed grades. It is not precipitation hardenable; cold working increases strength while reducing formability. It is suitable for conductive and heat transfer components where structural loading is modest.
