HAYNES 242 is an age-hardenable nickel molybdenum chromium alloy strengthened by long-range ordering. It combines high tensile and creep strength with low thermal expansion and useful ductility after aging. These characteristics support dimensionally stable turbine structures and high-temperature fasteners. Its resistance to fluorine-containing environments also makes it useful in selected chemical processes and fluoroelastomer processing equipment.
