2507 super duplex stainless steel is a high-alloy duplex stainless steel grade designated as UNS S32750 and UNS S32760. It is specifically developed for applications requiring extremely high corrosion resistance, superior mechanical strength, and excellent resistance to chloride-containing environments. The material combines the beneficial properties of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels through a balanced duplex microstructure consisting of approximately equal amounts of ferrite and austenite phases.

The alloy contains approximately 25% chromium, 4–8% nickel, and 3–5% molybdenum, along with nitrogen additions. The high chromium content provides outstanding resistance to general corrosion and oxidation, while molybdenum and nitrogen significantly enhance resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. The high alloy content gives 2507 a very high Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN), typically above 40, making it suitable for severe chloride environments.

2507 super duplex stainless steel bars offer exceptional resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, erosion corrosion, and localized corrosion. Compared with 2205 duplex stainless steel, 2507 provides higher strength and improved corrosion resistance, allowing it to perform reliably in seawater, offshore, and aggressive chemical environments. The duplex structure provides yield strength approximately twice that of conventional austenitic stainless steels such as 304 and 316.

2507 stainless steel bars are normally supplied in solution annealed condition to maintain the optimum ferrite-austenite phase balance. Proper heat treatment and welding procedures are essential to preserve corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. The material provides excellent fatigue strength, good toughness, and long service life in demanding industrial environments.

Due to its outstanding corrosion resistance and mechanical performance, 2507 super duplex stainless steel bars are widely used in offshore oil and gas equipment, seawater desalination plants, chemical processing equipment, marine engineering, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, pumps, valves, and high-pressure piping systems.
