904L stainless steel is a high-alloy super austenitic stainless steel developed for applications requiring exceptional corrosion resistance. It contains high nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper contents, providing outstanding resistance to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, chloride environments, and general corrosion.
Compared with conventional stainless steels such as 316L, 904L offers significantly improved resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and reducing acids. Its low carbon content provides excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding, making it suitable for welded structures.
904L is widely used in chemical processing, pharmaceutical, marine, and pollution control industries where long-term corrosion performance is required. Its excellent durability makes it suitable for highly aggressive chemical environments.
