6063 Aluminum Bar and Rod

6063 is a heat treatable aluminum magnesium silicon alloy known for good extrudability, surface finish and anodizing response. Extruded bars are useful for architectural details, decorative hardware and lightly loaded equipment parts. T5 and T6 provide useful strength, while T4 allows more forming before final aging. Its strength is generally below that of 6061 in comparable conditions. Welding is feasible, but local strength falls in the heat affected zone and must be considered for load bearing applications.
