Nominal size:
ASME: NPS 1/2–24 under B16.5; large diameter NPS 26–60 under B16.47; EN/JIS/GB/T sizes depend on applicable standard
Pressure rating:
ASME Class 150, 300, 400, 600, 900, 1500, 2500 (availability depends on size/type); EN/GB PN classes; JIS 5K–63K

2205 is a duplex stainless steel containing approximately equal proportions of austenite and ferrite. It combines substantially higher yield strength than common austenitic grades with strong resistance to chloride-induced pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. 2205 is frequently chosen where both mechanical strength and corrosion resistance are required, allowing thinner sections or higher pressure capability in suitable designs.
