316Mod (also known as 316L Mod, UNS S31603 Mod, 1.4435) is a premium low‑carbon molybdenum‑bearing austenitic stainless steel, modified with higher nickel and controlled silicon content for superior corrosion performance compared to standard 316L. This grade delivers fully austenitic microstructure with very low ferrite content, offering outstanding resistance against urea carbonate solutions, chloride‑induced pitting, crevice corrosion and intergranular attack after welding.
